You just need to bring the Fun

Summer Retreat is kind of like summer camp... bunk beds in air conditioned 'treehouse' cabins shared with your newly made connections. (Each 'treehouse' contains multiple twin bunk beds, shower stalls, toilets, and sinks.)

Yes! We provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, as well as breakfast on Sunday... Plus plenty of snacks, water, and refreshing beverages throughout the retreat.

Summer Retreat only costs you your time and energy! In partnership with Team Kentucky's Cabinet for Economic Development, we're able to provide a retreat at no cost to you to learn, connect, and have some fun.

Summer Retreat is for founders, investors, mentors, tech talent, students, business owners, and supporters of the startup community looking for a quick retreat to unplug from the everyday and connect with like-minded individuals.

Although we build in a little bit of free time, we've got your 41 hour retreat planned with meals, mentoring, games, learning sessions, and newtorking. Plan to wear comfortable clothes, take notes, and meet new people!

Summer Retreat is held at Barefoot Republic in Fountain Run, KY... about 2.5 hours south of Lexington and 2 hours south of Louisville. Carpooling is a great way to have fun while you travel, and save a little gas money. To find others looking to ride with, we encourage you to head to the Awesome Inc Slack Workspace, #summer-retreat-2025 channel, and find a friend to ride with!

At Awesome Inc, we Work Hard Play Hard, so expect to have a fun-filled retreat. While there will be free time to utilize Barefoot Republic's on-site activities such as volleyball, basketball, walking trails, and more, we will also have planned team activities to bring in a little competition. Not into physical gameplay? Don't worry... feel free to bring/play board games, connect in deep conversations, or be a supporter to those out on the field.
